A post-apocalyptic world where most of humanity has died out. Hazukuro, a tailor, could only watch Godou, who had he been secretly in love with since his school days, die in front of him. Using a “magical sewing machine” given to him by a man with a demon-like appearance, he sews a Goudo figure that is exactly the same as the real thing, and it begins to move and becomes attached to Hazukuro. But apparently it must not have a soul. Having violated the taboo of bringing the dead back to life, the demon-like man sent them on a journey to find Goudo’s “soul”, where something to be sewn awaits . What is the future of Hazukuro and Goudo who travel the world with only a needle and thread…? 人類の大半が死に絶えた終末後の世界。仕立て屋の羽繕（はづくろ）は学生時代から密かに想いを寄せていた護堂（ごどう）が目の前で息を引き取るのを見ているしかなかった。悪魔のような容貌の男から与えられた「魔法のミシン」で実物と寸分たがわぬ護堂の人型「ゴドー」を縫い上げたところ、それは生き生きと動き出し羽繕に懐いてくる。だがどうやら人間の魂のようなものはないらしい。死人を生き返らせる禁忌を犯した羽繕に、悪魔のような男は、この新しい世界には縫われるべきものが待っている、ゴドーの「たましい」を探す旅に出よと送り出すのだった。針と糸だけで世界を渡る羽繕とゴドーの未来は……？
